These areas include the face, chin, upper lip, neck, arms, underarms, back, chest, abdomen, shoulders, legs, buttocks and pubic area. Laser hair removal is an effective treatment for both men and women.

Facial hair in women is one of the most common areas treated by laser hair removal. The two areas most often treated are the upper lip and chin. This is because most women find facial hair to be very hard and ugly. Women who opt for laser hair removal facial hair, such as the ease and speed of treatment as well, and long-term results. Epilation in these areas usually takes anywhere from one to 10 minutes.

In women, facial hair tends to grow thicker as the woman gets older. The entire face is covered with tiny hairs called vellus hairs, which are almost invisible. As skin gets older, thicker terminal hairs grow on the face of the woman. This is basically the same thing happens to the ears of men. Laser treatment for this type of hair usually takes between ten and fifteen minutes.

Many women opt for laser hair removal eyebrow shaping. This treatment is an excellent way to stray and unwanted hair removal, especially between the eyebrows. Eyebrow treatment usually lasts about fifteen minutes and can result in mild irritation to the delicate skin around the forehead. This irritation usually disappears within a few days and is very similar to a mild sunburn.

Often men with a very hairy back choose to laser hair removal treatments. Many are self-conscious of their hair when going back to the gym or the beach. A full back treatment can take thirty minutes to one hour, depending on the extent of the hair in that area.

Many women choose laser hair removal treatments for the pubic area, or bikini area. They are often busy with shaving bumps, rash, or a stray pubic hair showing when they wear their bathing suits. It takes usually four to thirty minutes to complete laser hair in this area. The amount of hair that is removed depends on the customer. Some people opt for a full Brazilian bikini procedure, the removal of all hair in the genital area.

Laser hair removal of underarm generally takes about 30 minutes and usually results in permanent hair removal.

Some women make much difference one hour a week to remove their leg hair by shaving. This method is not only time consuming but often results in scratched, bleeding legs. Usually razor stubble can be seen within a few days when the hairs grow back. Laser hair removal for the legs may be the entire leg, half leg. It usually takes between 45 and 60 minutes for both legs to receive a full leg treatment.

Laser hair removal treatments are safe and effective ways to remove unwanted hair on any part of your body. Although several treatments may be needed, most people choose this method are very pleased with the results.

Using a laser for hair removal is not only less painful than waxing and tweezing, it is also more cost effective and efficient than shaving every week for 50 years. Even if you do not want to go to a clinic, you can get laser hair removal home products that work great. A clinical study evaluated the use of the LightSheer Diode Laser for hair removal. Of 92 patients, all had temporary hair loss and 89% had permanent hair reduction.

Laser hair removal has come a long way since the first laser for hair removal received FDA clearance in the mid 1990′s. Older generation lasers were very slow, very painful and worked only on individuals with very dark hair and very light skin. In 1993 Robert Grove, Ph.D., and a team of dermatologists and engineers developed the first diode laser for hair removal utilized by physicians in their medical practices. These devices are still considered the gold-standard among dermatologists and plastic surgeons.

The hair and skin colour, the amount of hair, and the sex of a person determine the number of sessions required for long-term reduction of hair. Typically, a series of multiple treatments is required; usually 5-7, but the number could go up to 12. During this brief period, laser light will shine down onto your skin and the energy will travel down the hair and into the follicle where it will damage the follicle and prevent any further hairs from growing. A mean hair removal efficiency of 74% and 79% is noted at 3 and 6 months, respectively.

Laser facial hair removal for women is better than electrolysis because it is far less likely to leave small scars on the delicate skin of the face. A tiny scar on the back of a thigh will be unnoticeable, but one on an otherwise well-groomed face can stand out as unpleasantly as a rogue hair does. The procedure involves the use of a laser that dissolves the fat and tightens the surrounding skin.

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has approved both the long pulsed diode and Nd: YAG laser systems for laser-assisted hair removal in darker skin phototypes. However, irrespective of the type of laser used, multiple treatment sessions are required in order to effectively eliminate the hair. GentleYAG HR for unparalleled hair removal; GentleYAG SRT for skin rejuvenation and tightening through wrinkle reduction; or the GentleYAG VR for superior leg and facial veins removal. All models are upgradeable.

Almost 1.5 million laser hair removal procedures and more than 0.6 million laser skin resurfacing procedures are performed. And then there’s shaving, a simple solution that hasn’t changed much since our grandmothers’ time, although marketers at razor companies are forever trying to convince us otherwise. As laser hair removal is done while causing localized damage to the skin around the follicle of the hair, it is absolutely normal that the treatment comes with some unwanted side effects. Normal side effects are itching, redness and swelling around the treatment area.
